During the day you can watch the tidal changes bring you both golden sandy beaches with rock pools & a pebbled beach front to explore. The area is family & dog friendly. As well as relaxing on the beach front, you can also enjoy: visiting the Lake District, fishing & more, England's coast path is also on your doorstep.

The Sea Cubby, Private Holiday Lodge, Portling.

The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

Located on White Cross Bay, the lodge is in a fantastic place to explore the Lake District and it's only £3.00 by bus to anywhere in The Lakes.

West view is a luxury property located directly on Nethertown beach. It is in a tranquil area with amazing sea views. It has a dog friendly beach, is great for fishing, has lots of wildlife and has the most stunning sunsets. In winter, enjoy cosy evenings with the fire lit. An ideal base for exploring the Western Lake District and Cumbrian Coast. It is surrounded by scenic walks and activities. It is close to St Bees coast to coast walk too. The property is close to Hodbarrow which is an RSPB Nature Reserve and it is also on the coast with some stunning dog friendly beaches to walk along. You can walk Black Combe and be rewarded with stunning views, or try wakeboarding, sea fishing or go horse riding on the beach.
