Eco self contained cottage in a garden.

This mini 1 bedroom house was our trial run in building our main home using passive house principles. We are approx 1 km from the centre of Westbury in a rural location. (You may be lucky enough to sight some of our local wildlife during your stay! ) The cottage is suitable for a couple, however the extra single bed does enable some flexibility for guests.(i.e. if you wish to use both beds, please book for 3 people.) We provide a library of information about sustainability for guest perusal.

Spoil yourself! Completely restored 1950's cottage on historic York Cove. Water views from every living area. Easy walk along foreshore to restaurants, coffee shops and town centre. George Town is a gateway to picturesque Low Head featuring 1860's Pilot Station with coffee shop, Museum, Light house and Penguin Walk. East Beach is simply beautiful. Nestling in a forest of Peppermint Gums is Wylah Cottage, so named after the Aboriginal word for the Yellow Tailed, Black Cockatoo, which is regularly seen and heard around the property. A secluded, self contained, bush retreat, located close to all the good things Tasmania has to offer. On 55 acres of bushland, teeming with wildlife, yet only 7kms from Deloraine – on the way to Cradle Mountain, and 45 minutes to either the Devonport Ferry, or Launceston Airport.

Shoal Bay just 20 meters from the door and Greens Beach just 10 minutes walk away along National Park Coastal track or along sealed road. One double bed in each room, two bathrooms laundry, kitchen with dishwasher, living room with TV, DVD, Wifi. Reverse cycle air-con in main area and electric oil heaters in each room.Tank water. Plenty of yard space and car parks.
