Perfect for wanting a peaceful setting away from it all! The grounds are beautiful. Sit on the front porch swing and enjoy the crickets and frogs…we will definitely be back!!

This is our third time staying at Shirley and Gary's retreat and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lake. It was the perfect size for my family and the boat dock and covered porch are both great retreats. The kitchen was very well stocked. The washer and dryer are great to have for lake towels and bathing suits. The beds are comfortable and towels are well stocked. The living room is very comfortable and TV has streamed services. The lake is just a short walk down a wide trail. We were able to fish under the covered dock and caught several catfish. We were also able to dock our boat and go out fishing and there is ample space to store fishing and tubing supplies when docked for the day. We recommend a wagon to help carry items to the dock. Thanks so much Shirley and Gary, we will return again!

Kevin was very responsive and kind. He took time to contact us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The house was very clean and comfortable. The wildlife in the yard everyday was just like home. I will definitely rebook with him again.

Great Stay for a Metal Detecting Trip Overall, this was a great stay for our group of eight on a week-long metal detecting trip. The house was comfortable and worked well for our needs. A few notes for future guests: 1. Check-In: Be sure to call the listed phone number for check-in instructions rather than relying on Airbnb Messenger. 2. Bedding: Not all beds had sheets when we arrived, but Gary quickly resolved this. 3. Guest Confusion: We had a few random visitors asking where to check in for the camp, which was unexpected. We directed them to Gary, but it seems check-in for the cottages on the property can be unclear for some guests. 4. Kitchen Supplies: The house could use more pots and pans, especially frying pans. 5. Hot Water: Plenty of hot water for eight guys showering—no issues there! Sleeping Arrangements: • 2 Guests on Cots: One in the downstairs den, one in the upstairs living room • Bedroom Setup: • 1 Room: 2 Single Beds – Shared Bath • 1 Queen – Private Bath

We had a great time. The house is spacious and the lake is wonderful. This is the most well equipped rental that we have ever stayed in. They could use a trash can upstairs and a few serving spoons. The hosts are very friendly and helpful! We'd love to go back again!

Clayton’s place was the epitome of a classic American 4th of July! We had 7 in our group plus a baby and we couldn’t have had a better time. The house is a dream and has everything you could need as we cooked all of our meals there and even used the smoker! Also the trail to the dock was directly across from the driveway and was so easy to access with the golf cart. If anything the pictures undersold the reality of how beautiful this place was for a summer holiday. We plan to return with the same group every year from now on! This place is where traditions are made. Would highly recommend for your trip to Kerr Lake. Also use Kerr Lake Adventures for any water craft rentals - we were able to keep our boat at Clayton’s dock for the duration of the trip! Brian from Kerr Lake adventures dropped off/ picked up the boat from the dock as well - so convenient! We can’t wait to come back!

I cannot fully express how appreciative I am for Harley's welcoming treatment of me and my guest. The place is absolutely knock out fantastic. Extremely comfortable and peaceful, very very well equipped. Harley went way over the top in welcoming us and treating us like royalty or even more oppressively, like friends. it was a pleasure meeting her and I highly recommend visiting her beautiful country cabin. If you're lucky, you will get a chance to meet her. This is what I call a super host.

Beautiful, charming and maintained historic home with all its character. Conveniently located close to grocery and shopping. The room was comfortable and clean. Quiet and private. Lovely stay!

Been quite a few spots on Airnb. Catherine and Shawn are truly the best host I have experienced….and not even close. They enjoy sharing their slice of heaven to those who appreciate all it has to offer. Gorgeous property to get out and explore and take it all in .It’s a trip my son and I always look forward to.

Mickey's place was the perfect getaway for our anniversary. It was secluded, had an awesome lakeview, and had the most gracious hosts who have been married for 39 years! I am a public school teacher who teaches children with exceptional needs. I have been trying to get to the beach since Spring Break. My husband said, "Since you like to fish, have you looked for lakes?" So, I looked and found Mickey's spot. It was perfect! Two days before check-in, I fell at work and fractured my foot and possibly my knee. I bought vacation insurance and could have cancelled because it has stairs to the unit, but I was really looking forward to going. Mr. Mickey and his wife, Mrs. Ann, were very accommodating. They used their utility vehicle to take me down the path to the lake for a boat ride and to fish. Mr. Mickey even let me reel in a fish that was on his line so everyone caught a fish! I went back on the dock the next morning and caught one on my on line!😊 We look forward to our next trip back!

This place was wonderful for us. Lots of room and decorated really nice. It was quiet and easy access. Scott couldn't have been more accomodating. Instructions were clear. Things labeled so you were not confused. Guide book of area if needed. Even left a treat for our dog! If, we are in area in future, would stay again. Our stay was awesome. Linda & David Gober

My family and I love this place. This was our second time booking. The scenery and privacy is amazing. Perfect location for us to stay close to family who live in the area. We will 100% be visiting again. Harriette makes everything simple for check-in and check-out. Highly recommended. Get the real feel of peace and tranquility in a cozy cabin while only being minutes from town. You will not be disappointed.

Very convenient location to downtown, grocery stores, an amazing park and great restaurants. Peaceful and private which makes it a bonus!

This is a gorgeous home in a great area! It’s close to town and activities but yet in a private and peaceful location. I am absolutely humbled by the care Margo gave us, we came into town unexpectedly due to a death in the family, she went out of her way to get the house cleaned and ready by the time we got there. Her kindness will not be forgotten!

Ms. Betty & Farmer Jerry were the perfect hosts - making us feel so welcomed! The cabin was exactly as described - cozy & well-appointed. We found no need to venture off the farm during our 4-night stay as there was so much to keep us busy! We toured the property with Jerry, explored further on the included golf cart, watched stallion training, caught buckets of frogs, & fed the friendly horses, donkey, & cattle (bring carrots & cored apples; alfalfa cubes were provided). We came prepared to fish all the ponds. Even so, fishing poles & bait options were offered, even "special" lizards to help our son catch the BIG ones! We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful setting & gracious hosts. The kids are already asking when we can book another stay :) Most everything you need is supplied - I've made a note to bring lidded containers for leftovers, foil, & sharp kitchen/steak knives next time. If early rising isn't your thing, pack ideas to keep the rude bird away from the master transom!
