We had never stayed in an Airbnb property before and so had no idea what to expect. However, The Lilypad surpassed anything we could have imagined. The house itself was beautiful and much bigger than it seemed in the photos and Derrick and Margi are the perfect hosts. The house is spacious and very well equipped. Even the monkeys turned up to watch us eating lunch in the garden one day. It was like a wildlife documentary in reverse! We could not believe their generosity in taking our children to the airport at 5.30am after we left! If all Airbnb properties and hosts are all like this then we are hooked. What can I say except WOW! Started off the day watching the sun rise over the ocean while enjoys a wonderful cup of tea on the two chairs dedicated to Nono and Maxime. We could then walk down to Thompson Bay beach directly from the garden. When a day in the waves was over, a short walk up the steps to the outdoor shower by the pool for a quick dip then a quick braai on the amazing stainless steel braai by the pool. To end it all, going to sleep with the doors open listening to the waves crashing all night! And in the morning, Elizabeth was there to sort out our messy dishes and Russel washed off all the kids beach toys…. I can’t recommend the place enough and hope to be back next year. An absolute paradise! Great for all ages, we had from a toddler for the day to 85 year old mama, who all felt at home and had a wonderful time. We lived on the back porch, soaking in the sun and breeze and catching up with each other after 2 years apart. Would absolutely stay again!

We had a lovely stay in Zimbali, this property is huge and surrounded by forest and wildlife and near to pools and walks and food options. The host is very friendly and responsive. We hope to be back.

Just book it, don’t think twice. My family and I just returned from our trip to this exquisite property and we have nothing but praises. We were all blown away by the property and the warm, personalized, South African welcome we received from the lovely Shingi. There’s something about the wide open concept, Koi pond, and expansive outdoor and indoor space which cemented this as the nicest Air BnB we have stayed in thus far. The experience was so good that we are already planning our return. P.S. A beautiful home, stunning furnishings, kitchen was well equipped, clean towels, huge patio with sun loungers, wonderfully large patio table, bar fridge & the most comfortable lounging chairs. Spotless, bedrooms & bathrooms. Serene position within the Simbithi forest, trails right off the back garden, what more could one ask.. We spent our family holiday, all 7 of us loved relaxing at Terry’s & Paul’s place, it was simply beautiful.

We had a truly memorable stay at uBukwa Guest House in Zimbali. The house was perfect for our family of 11—spacious, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. There was plenty of room to enjoy time together, yet enough space for privacy when needed. Our host, VJ, was outstanding—friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful without being intrusive. His attention to detail and care for guests really stood out. The home’s solar power and off-grid water system added a nice touch of sustainability. Zimbali itself offers so much to do. We enjoyed exploring the beaches, walking the nature trails, and simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Overall, uBukwa felt more like a home than a rental. It’s a beautiful, welcoming place that made our family getaway something special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, space, and a great host.

Con una vista mozzafiato sull’oceano indiano, questa villa è un sogno per chiunque voglia passare una rilassante vacanza. L’ampio salone e tre delle quattro camere hanno una spettacolare vista sull’oceano. La cucina è attrezzatissima e il patio superiore e inferiore sono ottimi per rilassarsi facendo due chiacchiere o leggendo un libro. Tutto è pulito alla perfezione e protetto da un sistema d’allarme. Il giardino con piscina privata ha anche accesso diretto alla spiaggia. Jenny è sempre stata disponibilissima e gentilissima, per qualsiasi domanda le risposte sono arrivate al massimo in 5 minuti! Una vacanza splendida, la casa e il giardino sono talmente belli che non avrete molta voglia di allontanarvi per goderveli il più possibile.
