Statuts des serrures connectées et leur signification

Find the different smart lock statuses that you may encounter, and what they mean for you and your guests.

Smart lock statuses and what they mean

Here’s a list of the smart lock statuses that you may be shown:

  • Connected: Your lock is connected, and its battery levels are good. Existing codes are working, and new codes will be shared with guests when bookings are confirmed.
  • Low battery: Your lock’s battery is low, so we recommend you replace it soon to ensure your guests can get inside.
  • Critically low battery: Your lock’s battery is critically low, so we recommend you take action right away to avoid your guests from being locked out of your place.
  • Offline: Your lock’s battery may be dead, or your wifi connection may be down. It’s important that you take action as soon as possible.
    • If it’s the battery, your guests won’t be able to use your lock to access your place.
    • If it’s an issue with the wifi but your lock’s battery is good, your guests with confirmed reservations will be able to use their code to get inside. Codes can’t be generated for any new reservations while your lock is offline, so a backup code may be shared with guests for new reservations.
  • Disconnected: Your lock was disconnected or the connection to Airbnb was removed. You can set it up again, if you’d like. In the meantime, you’ll need to update your listing’s check-in method, and let your guests know how they can access your place.

Note: Your smart lock’s status may take a few minutes to update after you’ve taken action to resolve an issue.

Where to find the status of your smart lock

You can always find the status of your smart lock on your listing under Arrival guide > Check-in method. You can also find the status in your guest’s reservation details for any current or upcoming reservations.

How you’ll be notified if your smart lock’s status changes

We’ll let you know any time that your lock changes to a different status, as well as what you may be able to do to resolve the issue. Depending on the notifications you’ve opted to receive, we’ll let you know via text (SMS), email, and/or push notifications.

What happens if your smart lock has multiple issues

Your smart lock will only display one status at a time, even if there’s more than one issue. The most critical status will display first, and once resolved, the less critical status will display. For example, if your lock is offline and also has a low battery, you’ll first be shown the “offline” status. Once you’ve gotten your lock back online, you’ll be shown the “low battery” status.
