We just loved staying at this end of the beach! We had always stayed closer to the restaurants and action, but since my 92 year old mother needed an elevator, for this family weekend, we gave Emily’s home a try. The reviews were so positive, so we couldn’t go wrong. The house was exactly what we needed. Truly a house for eight people with dining for eight. A big kitchen where we could all help out with preparing meals. Rocking chairs in the front deck facing the ocean- overlooking and empty beach lot- where we could see wind and kite surfers. The breeze was fabulous up there, and Emily provides pillows and blankets to make it all super comfy. There is only one tv, so that the house becomes about togetherness— we only turned it on one night and for Formula 1 ;) For our family, that was PERFECT! We walked in the beach but did not have time to sit on the beach. Emily has beach chairs, towels, and sand toys for the young and old! We will definitely come back to this very special house!!!

Highly recommend! We LOVED staying here. Location was perfect. Everything about this home was amazing. So charming, safe and CLEAN. You will not be disappointed in your decision to stay here!

We enjoyed our stay over spring break. The arcade and game room were enjoyed by all. There were plenty of places to sleep our family of eleven. We loved the location and the ability to bike to several places including the beach.

The place was just as advertised, a bit smaller than what we were expecting but it was beautiful. the older decor made it feel right at home and comfy. the host was inviting and nice. overall 9/10 stay.

Can't say enough about this BnB! We travel a whole lot and often with our pups. This place was perfect for relaxing at the beach with our dogs - it's fenced and clearly set up for furbabies - even an extra leash and poop bags as well as a ball and some bowls. Many beach places smell a little due to moisture and this place did not at all! It is well laid out for multiple guests too. The labeled kitchen supplies were awesome and everything was in order and made sense. We loved relaxing on the deck overlooking the canal, the extremely short walk to the beach, the very comfy couches and having a general store so close. The hosts were responsive and helpful. Definitely 5 stars! We love a place that is privately owned vs owned by a corporate company and we could tell this beach home is well cherished. Thank you for sharing it with us!!

This home is incredible! We enjoyed this trip more than any other we have had recently!! Adorable home, well decorated, and we had everything we might need! The best part was the ability to use the beach equipment, kayaks, and bicycles from the home. The walk to the beach is perfect! Chris was very helpful, responsive, and always working to be sure our stay was the best. He went above and beyond for us, and we felt like more than just another renter. My family loved this home and hope to return again to this home soon!!

The place was perfect in every aspect: The location, size, accommodations, amenities, and proximity to the areas we frequented. For our tennis group, the total cost was less than what a hotel would have cost, which is historically where we used to stay. This experience, summarized by our ability to share one place, travel together, have meals together, watch TV together, and have the large space to spread out was absolutely fantastic. The experience was positive any which way you look at it. On top of that, Jana (and her husband) were super hosts with super friendly communication. We wish we had the opportunity to meet them in person, but..............maybe this time next year :-).

A really lovely 3rd floor apartment with nice views of the marshland behind and a sliver of view toward the water in the other direction. Nicely furnished, very comfortable--just a really enjoyable space to be in. As several other reviewers mentioned, there's an elementary school right in back so you do hear children playing from time to time during the day. Otherwise, the neighborhood is very quiet and the pretty residential street has hardly any cars going by. The beach is a pleasant 12-15 minute walk. There are a handful of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance and many more within a short drive. I loved this place!

Such a great place to stay! We enjoyed the kayaks and being close to the beach. It was comfortable and beautiful. Highly recommend. Also Mike was super communicative.

Second time staying here, and we still love the lovely house, the location, the views of the canal and OIB. Plenty of space for our 6 member family, close to beach (3 minute walk), private canal pier. Highly recommend, just make sure to pack toiletries and linens!

This place was even better than the pictures! The ceilings are so tall and the floor plan is so open that it just feels so spacious from the moment you walk inside. The neighborhood was friendly and quiet, and we walked several times to food/coffee/activities downtown. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It was very cozy and peaceful. The cottage was so cute and made me feel like I was at the beach. with her beautiful decor. I would recommend this place. The owner was very friendly and responsive to my questions.

We loved our stay at the Surf Shack! The house is cozy and quiet and in a great location. We enjoyed cruising around the island in the nice golf cart and loves that there were bikes available. The Surf Shack is very kid friendly as well!

This is a beautiful home. We really enjoyed our stay. This home is in a beautiful neighborhood. Everyone was very friendly. Short walk to the beach and canal. Golf cart is definitely worth having as everything you would want to do is just a short ride and offers free parking. Home is equipped with everything you would need. Very clean and private. Great if you have kids. Homeowner is great as he always responded quickly to any questions I had prior to our arrival. Once you are there, the detailed instructions provided will guarantee a great stay. Definitely recommend and hope to return again.

We loved our stay here! Such a cute and comfy cottage, perfect for a beach trip; it comes stocked with pretty much everything you could ask for. Loved that it was walking distance to so many shops and restaurants, as well as beach access points, while also being tucked away down the street for a peaceful and quiet night's sleep. Todd was an excellent host as well, very friendly and responsive. Thanks so much!!!

This cozy cottage was exactly what my daughter and I needed for a weekend away in a secluded setting on their property. Charlene was a gracious host and the amenities in this cozy cottage were impeccable! It was super inviting, modern, and had all the things that you needed including very appreciated basket of snacks upon arrival. My daughter and I really enjoyed using the gym next-door and then headed out toward Wrightsville Beach the next day. We enjoyed the fire pit at night with provided firewood on the cute patio with the string lights and peaceful sounds of nature. Grocery stores were easily 5 to 10 minutes away and Wilmington was a good 15-20 minute ride. Topsail was 25 minutes in the other direction and we loved visiting there as well. The property is huge and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage! Great stay overall!
