Frangipani Villa at The Hills

Sunsets glow over the ocean and neighboring St. Thomas rises from the sea—as seen from the patio of this Mediterranean-inspired villa on St. John. It’s part of a clutch of villas set above Cruz Bay like an Italian hilltop village, and shares a clubhouse, fitness center, and pool with them. Drive or take a taxi down to more dining and shopping choices in central Cruz Bay. Stone gates at the entrance give the feeling of sweeping up to a European country estate, but once you reach the house, the views are all Caribbean. Watch sailboats in the harbor below from a lounger by the private swimming pool—or better yet, from a float in the pool. As the sun sinks lower, heat up the barbecue for dinner at the alfresco table.
